Jeez...it's been over a week since I've blogged last! What a great way to start up a new blog...haha. Well i've been so busy with school, my mom coming, and everything that I feel like I'm just now able to slow down and catch my breath. Ahhhhhh. So as I sit here in my bed with two corn packs on my body, let me tell you about my week where I left off.
Wednesday:
Wednesday night I went out for tapas in the mission with Emily, Kristina, and Sasha. Sasha has a car, so it was nice to avoid buses and cabs. I was starving once we got there, so looking at the menu, any bit of self control went out the window. I opted for the healthy options, ordering deep fried macaroni and cheese strips (weird concept, soo good), mashed potatoes (they were gross and tasted like old lady...not that I know what old lady tastes like haha, but you know), and then a basket of fries for the table. I feel like I was gaining weight by just looking at everything, but it was worth it because it was sooo good. Afterward, we drove to get some frozen yogurt for dessert, and found a cute place over in the Russian Hill area. We blasted some Alanis Morisette (or however you spell it) and got our treats, then we went back to school after. A good night was had by all!
Thursday:
On thursday I woke up early for my public speaking class, only to get there 5 minutes early and be the only one. I waited for about ten minutes after the class started, and I was still the only one. There was clearly some memo I had missed, I somehow seem to be very out of the loop haha. Anyways, I didn't really care because my mom had arrived, and I was super excited to see her and my grandma. They came and picked me up at school, and we went to this super cute place for breakfast place in lower Hayes. I then went to a coffee shop for the rest of the day and did what felt like endless amounts of homework, and I only took a break to skype Katie, which was hilarious because I was in a silent coffee shop , so I couldn't talk, so we just stared at each other while typing to each other. Then if we saw someone interesting, like a weird person, bad outfit, cute guy, etc, we would try to discretely tip the computer so that the other one could see. HAH, didn't really work.
Thursday night I went with Emily and Kristina to 330 Ritch to go to se V.V. Brown, whom we had never even heard of before. They were from London and reminded me of m.i.a. meets lady gaga meets indie rock/hip hop. Hard to describe, but they were awesome. After the show, a dj spun awesome 80's and 90's dance music and hip hop, with the occasional pixies or mgmt. The music was AMAZING, and we all had so much fun dancing the entire night. We got back late, and slept in the next day. Those nights are my absolute favorites.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
This weekend all blends together as a mixture of business and pleasure. My Aunt Cindy came in on Friday, so she, my mom, and I went to the castro and mission. She hadn't been here in years, so I wanted to show her some places that are very San Francisco-ish. The castro is unique to say the least, and always super fun. We went to the mission after that and I scored a jean jacket at a thrift store. Yes!
The rest of the weekend was mainly spent working at the gift show, which was much better than I had thought. I had never worked with this woman before, so I didn't really know what to expect. I got there and she was really nice and laid back, which I liked. When she told me to pick out a necklace to wear/model, she said to pick something big. I picked this awesome sabertooth necklace, which in my opinion was big (and I'm not the most conservative of people), but I guess she meant reeeally big. She pulled out this giant sea shell, about 6 inches by 6 inches, and the most hideous shade of light orange possible, and goes "You can totally make this look awesome." So now, here I was wearing this giant sea shell, and people cracking jokes like, "wow, that sure is an eye catcher..." Ahhhhh. It was literally so ugly, but really funny at the same time. The customers were annoying for the most part, and the days went by really slow until I got out and got to do things with my family. It was awesome getting to see them, and we had a really good time! Plus, now i have a little more cash monnaaaaay.
Thats about it for now, sorry this is so long, but I haven't had time to blog, but I wanted to write all of this down!
adiosss
