This weekend was pretty low key but still really fun. The worst part was that Emily was in LA, so our group was one member short once again (it was me who broke it up last weekend). Anyways, on thursday night Kristina and I went to the Mumford and Sons concert at 330 ritch. At first I was really annoyed because our cab driver dropped us off 3 blocks away (it was raining, and my boots don't like the rain), even after I insisted that he was in the wrong place. He said I was wrong, so I said okay, but of course, I was right. Oh well. We got really lucky because we waited in a super long line, but then found out that the show was sold out. We stood awkwardly with the bouncer, and then the nice guy behind us offered to sell us 2 tickets. What a relief! We had never really heard of Mumford and Sons before so we didn't know what to expect. Inside we stood next to some hilarious drunk Australians, which made the experience extra great haha. When the show started, I immediately fell in love with the band. It turns out I had heard two of their songs before, but live, they brought it to a whole new level. It was SO AMAZING. Literally, I had chills.
Afterwards my look alike dj (haha, some gay guy with a very similar hairstyle who always wears VERY tight jeans) spun for a while and played the best music. The smiths, yeah yeah yeahs, vampire weekend, I could go on and on. We literally had the best time.
Saturday was super exciting because Leigh was in town! We went to Japantown and stumbled upon the grand opening of this awesome store type thing where they sold harajuku clothes and shoes. They also had stationary, cupcakes, miniature silverware, and pretty much any other random thing you could imagine. It was so cool! We then went to pika pika, which is pretty self explanitory by looking at the photos. Fun is the only word I could use to describe this place. It's pretty hilarious, because all of the instructions are in Japanese, so although we didn't end up with the backgrounds we wanted (hence the japanese instructions), we had an amazing time. The night was topped off by sushi and starbucks. PERFECT. I then went back to my room and watched a few episodes of the 5th season of weeds. Yessssss please.
The rest of the weekend consisted of city wide pillow fights, fishermans wharf, crazy people, you know, the usual. I got out of class an hour and a half early today, so obviously it's going to be a good week! I also have my first AIESEC meeting tonight, which i'm really excited for. Annnnnd............ SALLY COMES TOMORROW!! I couldn't be more excited. It's exactly what both her and I need, and I can't wait to have massive amounts of fun. San Francisco, get ready.
PS: here is one of the photos from pika pika, and a link to mumford and sons website. Def take a listen/look (they're really hot btw)
